2024 Blue Pyrenees Chardonnay – An elegant Chardonnay from Victoria with freshness, creaminess, and structure

The 2024 Chardonnay from Blue Pyrenees Estate comes from selected vineyard plots in the cool highlands of the Pyrenees in Western Victoria. It was aged partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in used French oak barrels, with five months of lees aging. The result: an expressive, precise, and yet pleasantly approachable Chardonnay with a delicate balance of fruit, creaminess, and subtle spice.

What makes the Blue Pyrenees Chardonnay 2024 so special?

This Chardonnay comes from individual blocks on the Blue Pyrenees estate in Western Victoria. The grape variety is considered the queen of white wines—and in this cool region, it shows its elegant side. The combination of stainless steel and oak, along with yeast aging, gives the wine structure, complexity, and mouthfeel, while keeping it fresh, crisp, and precise. A modern Chardonnay for fans of elegance over opulence—with aging potential for the coming years.

So, how does the 2024 Blue Pyrenees Chardonnay taste?

In the glass, the wine displays a pale straw-yellow color. On the nose, aromas of white peach, lemon blossom, and toasted cashews blend with subtle hints of yeast. On the palate, intense notes of white nectarine and grapefruit unfold. The texture is creamy, the oak is subtly integrated, and the fresh acidity provides structure, length, and a clean, elegant profile all the way through the finish.
