Very aromatic and exciting wines from New Zealand, offers Ōhau Gravels. It is a fledgling wine sub-region located in Horowhenua on the west coast of the lower North Island. The area is known primarily as a ski resort and for its nursery products.
For centuries, the region has been shaped by the Ōhau River, which has left deposits of gravel and thus a stony but fertile soil. Currently, there is only one wine producer in the region, which was founded in 2009. This winery is very successful in producing aromatic white wines from Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc grapes.
