Longview Vista Shiraz Barbera – The best of two worlds

The Longview Vista Shiraz Barbera combines the best of Australia and Italy to create a harmonious, modern accompaniment to food. It consists of 84% Shiraz and 16% of the Piedmontese grape variety Barbera. All grapes were harvested by hand. Both varieties were destemmed and crushed before undergoing cool, open fermentation for 14 days. Maturation took place in used French oak hogsheads (3 and 4 year old). This Australian red wine was bottled after 10 months of maturation.

Taste Unveiled: Exploring the Flavor Profile of the Vista Shiraz Barbera from Longview Vineyards

On the nose, the Longview Vista Shiraz Barbera seduces with intense notes of fresh blackberries and cherries, accompanied by herbaceous, spicy notes of gingerbread spice, black pepper, vanilla and cocoa. On the palate, the Shiraz displays all the characteristics of a cool-climate wine: spicy, hearty with crunchy berries. The Barbera provides a juicy, cherry-like character, good drinkability and a taut acidity that gives the wine a wonderful structure. The Vista is an Australian red wine that can be drunk very young, but will develop well over 5 years.
