100% Viognier from Canada: A fragrant affair

Lakeview Cellars is one of the lines of the Diamond Estate winery from Canada. The grapes for lakeview wines come from the best vineyards in the Niagara region and benefit from the coastal breezes of Lake Ontario. The peninsula is also bordered by Niagara Falls and Lake Erie. Therefore, the climate in summer is mild and therefore ideally suited for viticulture beyond the ice wine. The wines all bear the “VQA Niagara Peninsula” seal. VQA stands for “Vintners Quality Alliance”, an appellation and regulation system for original Canadian wines that guarantees quality and authenticity. Lakeview’s reputation stems from the winery’s commitment to producing premium VQA wines at affordable prices. The 100% Viognier grapes were gently pressed after harvest with a modern pneumatic press and fermented cool in steel tanks for 2 weeks.

And this is how the Lakeview Cellars Viognier 2017 tastes

The Lakeview Viognier is a very aromatic wine, in which you immediately receive lively notes of lemon, orange blossom, ripe peach as well as hedge cherry and violets. On the palate there is also nectarine, apricot and tangerine. The wine is beautifully balanced overall, gives a fine mouthfeel and has a good fruity finish.

2017 Lakeview Viognier

And the Lakeview Cellars Viognier 2017 fits in with this

The Lakeview Viognier convinced us to creamy curries like butter chicken. It also makes a great chicken filled with apricots. If you like it vegetarian, try it with caramelized root vegetables.
