Creekside Rosé – Ein verführerischer Wein aus Pinot Noir und Pinot Gris

The Creekside Estate Winery is run, as winemaker Rob Power ironically says, by a “disrespectful bunch”. By this he means a group of like-minded wine industry professionals who bring with them an impressive and quirky mix of winemaking know-how and sales and marketing expertise. The goal of these buddies is to produce wines that are distinctive, break conventions and bring the unique terroir of the Niagara Peninsula to the bottle.

The Pinot Noir grapes for this rosé come from the Queenston Road Vineyard and were harvested between September 13 and October 2, 2021. The grapes were crushed after harvesting and macerated for one hour before pressing. The Pinot Gris grapes were fermented cold in stainless steel to preserve the fruitiness. The individual wines were then blended. An animating wine from an exceptional vintage!

And how does the rosé from Creekside Estate Winery taste?

The Creekside Rosé enchants with a delicate aroma reminiscent of candy floss, ripe red berries and cantaloupe melon. It impresses on the palate with a juicy, fruity taste. Cherries, wild strawberries and grapefruit, accompanied by a mouth-watering Mediterranean saltiness. The acidity is delicate and supportive. A great wine for relaxing and, with its subtle residual sweetness, an ideal accompaniment to spicy, slightly piquant dishes.

What dishes go well with Creekside Rosé?

The Creekside Rosé goes well with a variety of dishes. It harmonizes very well with light starters such as salads, bruschetta and fresh fruit. Its acidity and fruitiness complement these dishes without overpowering them. Its light and refreshing character make this Canadian rosé an ideal accompaniment to seafood. Combine it with dishes such as grilled prawns, salmon or a seafood salad.

The rosé from Creekside Estate Winery also complements the flavors of chicken, turkey and other poultry dishes. Grilled or roasted chicken in particular can be a delicious combination.

Soft and mild cheeses such as goat’s cheese, feta or brie go well with this rosé from Canada. The acidity of the wine helps to break up the creaminess of the cheese.

The slightly sweet and fruity characteristics of this rosé wine can balance out the spiciness of spicy dishes. Try it with spicy Mexican, Thai or Indian cuisine.

Naturally, the Creekside Rosé goes perfectly with Mediterranean dishes. Think of dishes such as Greek salads, tapenade or ratatouille.
A charcuterie platter with various sausages, olives and cheeses is enhanced by the versatility of this Canadian wine.

We love it with grilled dishes, especially grilled vegetables, pork or lighter meats such as chicken or turkey.
