Mischa Estates wonderful Bordeaux blend

The Accordance of Mischa Estate from Wellington in South Africa’s Costal region is a blend consisting of the classic Bordeaux grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Each grape variety and each wine plot brings its own character to this elegant cuvée and under the careful hand of the Barns brothers, an extraordinary wine is created. Aged in French oak barrels, it is already well drinkable, but can also mature in the bottle for at least 5 years.

The Barns family’s business became known as a nursery. Over decades, Mischa Estate has developed into the third largest nursery in the southern hemisphere. However, this was no longer enough for the current owners, the brothers Andrew and Gary Barns. A few years ago, in addition to vine cultivation, they began to pursue their further passion and to prepare wine themselves. Today, Mischa Estate is one of South Africa’s most prestigious boutique wineries, honored with many awards from leading wine critics.

And this is how the Mischa Estate Accordance tastes

In the nose, the Mischa Estate Accordance beguiles with animating and multi-layered notes of cassis, ripe plums and mulberries, accompanied by the scent of tobacco, dark chocolate and cloves. On the palate, the aromas of plums and cloves continue delicately. The tannin is very supple for the youthfulness of this red wine, the acidity delicate. A very balanced South African wine from Wellington, powerful, graceful and with an impressive finish.

And the Mischa Estate Accordance fits in with this

The Mischa Estate Accordance is already convincing as a soloist, but as a food accompanist it is a blast. Of course, it unfolds its strength to grilled and short-fried meat, ideally red meat. We, as BBQ lovers, like to drink the accordance with a leg of lamb or a classic beef steak. It also goes well with game dishes, such as a venison goulash.
