A reliable all-round wine
The grapes for this red wine come from vines that are predominantly on Queenston slate rock. The vineyard is only about 95 m above sea level. A full, intense solar radiation with strong radiant cooling, resulting in a high difference between day and night temperature, characterize this location in Niagara-on-the-lake. The Merlot was aged for 19 months in French oak barriques.

The Pillitteri Merlot beguiles with rich aromas of raspberry, chocolate, cherry and a subliminal hint of liquorice. On the palate it is full-bodied and close-meshed, with silky soft tannins and aromas of black pepper, some smoke and wild berries. A very multifaceted and harmonious Merlot, with a smooth, long reverberation.
