Mansion House Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc – A classy Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

The grapes for the Whitehaven Mansion House Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc are predominantly (90%) from the Pauls Road vineyard (Rapaura area) and a small proportion from the Lower Wairau area. They were machine harvested in the cool evening hours and at night. After minimal skin contact, they were pressed immediately afterwards. After settling the suspended solids, alcoholic fermentation took place in, stainless steel tank. The clear juice was fermented at low temperatures with selected yeast strains to preserve the aromas of the grape variety. The wines from the individual parcels were left on the fine lees in the tank for up to 6 weeks before blending. The finished New Zealand wine was heat and cold stabilised and sterile filtered before bottling.

And this is how the Mansion House Bay Marlborough Sauvignon tastes

The Mansion House Bay Sauvignon Blanc has a seductive nose of stone fruit, citrus and green plums, underpinned with delicate herbal notes. On the palate, the New Zealand white wine is very juicy, with an animating, crisp acidity and lots of pure fruit. The citrus and herbal flavours continue into the long, refreshing finish.

And the Whitehaven Mansion House Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc goes well with it.

Try the Whitehaven Mansion House Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with fresh seafood and fish. This is a classic combination. Oysters, mussels, crab, prawns or grilled fish go well with this type of wine. The acidity of the wine can balance the seafood and the fruity flavours complement the delicate sea flavours. The fruity acidity of the wine can enhance the delicate fish flavours in sushi and sashimi and provide a refreshing combination. Dishes prepared with citrus fruits also harmonise well with the fruity acidity of New Zealand wine. This could be lemon chicken, grilled salmon fillets with lemon butter or prawns in a citrus marinade. The herbaceous notes of Sauvignon Blanc go well with asparagus. A simple preparation method such as steamed asparagus with a little lemon juice and Parmesan can work wonderfully. Green vegetables such as green beans, peas, spinach or broccoli can work well with the Mansion House Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The flavours complement each other and the acidity of the wine can bring out the freshness of the vegetables. Sauvignon Blanc and goat cheese are a classic combination. The grassy and fruity flavours of the wine go perfectly with the characteristic taste of goat cheese. A salad with goat cheese or a cheese platter are good options. So are light, summer salads with fresh herbs, tomatoes, cucumbers and a light dressing. They can go well with this New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough. The fresh flavours complement each other perfectly. Grilled chicken, turkey breast or chicken salads with fresh herbs are also suitable companions for this style of Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. We can also imagine pasta dishes with light sauces such as pesto, tomato sauce or lemon butter going very well with it. The Mansion House Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has also proved very good with summer starters such as Caprese salad (tomato, mozzarella, basil), bruschetta or gazpacho.
