Grenache, Mataro and Shiraz are three of the great red grape varieties that have delivered milestones in history in the red winemaking of the Barossa Valley. With this traditional style, Winemaker Phil Lehmann is keen to depict structure and integrated flavours. Grenache brings juiciness, spice and fragrance as well as a certain earthiness and leather notes with the maturation. Mataro stands for a fleshy component, with aromas of venison on the palate. Shiraz fulfills its function as a strong backbone of the cuv\u00e9e, providing color and structure. The grapes for the Motley Bunch GSM come from three different areas in the Barossa Valley, the 37% Grenache from Light Pass, the 36% Mataro from Stonewell and the 27% Shiraz from Ebenezer. After fermentation, the Grenache was matured in larger, used French Puncheons to allow as little wood influence as possible. Mataro and Shiraz were matured in 10% new and 90% used French Hogsheads.<\/p>\n

Fragrant aromas flow from the glass of St. John’s Road Motley Bunch Grenache Mataro Shiraz, wild berries, plum, sweet spices and a touch of earthiness. On the palate it is very balanced and balanced, in terms of taste it offers fresh fruits, but also with smoky peat notes and spice.
