The Pillitteri Merlot is a good all-rounder, but of course with strengths in the accompaniment of meat dishes. Enjoy it with lamb, pork or roasted duck with cherry port sauce, pizza, grilled chicken and pasta with ragout or tomato sauce.

The grapes for this red wine come from vines that are predominantly on Queenston slate rock. The vineyard is only about 95 m above sea level. A full, intense solar radiation with strong radiant cooling, resulting in a high difference between day and night temperature, characterize this location in Niagara-on-the-lake. The Merlot was aged for 19 months in French oak barriques.

The Pillitteri Merlot beguiles with rich aromas of raspberry, chocolate, cherry and a subliminal hint of liquorice. On the palate it is full-bodied and close-meshed, with silky soft tannins and aromas of black pepper, some smoke and wild berries. A very multifaceted and harmonious Merlot, with a smooth, long reverberation.

[3845,3846,3855,3866,3870,4137,4140,4147,4161,4178,4179,4183
4058,4025,4050,4066,4086,4128
post-7123","product","type-product","status-publish","product_cat-wines","product_cat-red-grape-varieties","product_cat-merlot-en","product_cat-wine-type","product_cat-red-wines","product_cat-wine-style","product_cat-matured-complex","product_cat-velvety-round","product_cat-wine-origin","product_cat-canada","product_cat-niagara-en","product_cat-pillitteri-estates-winery-en","product_tag-niagara-en","product_tag-canada","product_tag-merlot-en","product_tag-pillitteri-estates-winery-en","product_tag-red-wines","product_tag-wines","pa_alkoholgehalt-13-5-en","pa_allergenhinweis-contains-sulphites","pa_anbau-bewirtschaftung-conventional","pa_ausbau-in-barrique-barrel","pa_dekantieren-empfohlen-no","pa_empfohlenes-glas-bordeaux-glass","pa_geschmack-dry","pa_jahrgang-2015-en","pa_lebensmittelunternehmer-wine-in-motion-gmbh-kellerweg-4-84494-neumarkt-sankt-veit-deutschland-en","pa_nettofuellmenge-0-75-en","pa_rebsorten-merlot-en","pa_reifepotential-until-2022","pa_restzucker-3-0-en","pa_saeure-6-8-en","pa_trinkreife-from-now","pa_trinktemperatur-16-18-en","pa_vegan-produziert-no","pa_verpackungseinheit-12-en","pa_verschlussart-natural-cork","pa_weingut-pillitteri-estates-winery-en","pa_weinland-canada","pa_weinregion-niagara-en","pa_weinstil-velvety-round","pa_weinstil-mature-complex","pa_weintyp-red-wine","first","instock","taxable","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple
