The grapes for the Amisfield Sauvignon Blanc were harvested plot by plot. The grapes were harvested within two weeks using a combination of hand and machine harvesting, depending on the flavour and aroma profile. The individual parcels were destemmed and fermented separately at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts. A small portion was fermented in barrels and blended for a creamier texture. The Amisfield winery is located in Central Otago on New Zealand’s South Island and today specialises in Pinot Noir and aromatic white wines. The majority of Amisfield’s Sauvignon Blanc vines are planted on shallow, sandy loam soils on the gently sloping terrace above the winery. A small proportion is located on the more fertile plains further down.<\/p>\n

The 2022 Amisfield Sauvignon Blanc is intensely aromatic, with ripe passion fruit and tropical notes in the lead role. It shows great concentration and power, with a juicy mid-palate characterised by lime and citrus fruit, framed by a delicate acidity and an animating minerality. Most of the fruit was fermented cool in stainless steel, with a small proportion of barrel fermented wine for texture.
