The Nelson Gew\u00fcrztraminer from Seifried Estate Winery is bursting with exotic and oriental fruit. The grapes for this top-class New Zealand white wine come from Seifried’s Redwood Vineyard and Brightwater Vineyard. The unirrigated Redwood Vineyard is located in the valley of the same name on a gently sloping, north-facing hillside. The vines there are between 10 and 30 years old. The vines from the Brightwater vineyard are in an extremely stony area where the water and nutrient content is very low. This means that the plants are limited in their vigour and produce low yields. However, the harvested grapes produce a wonderful concentration and fullness. <\/p>\n
Following the harvest, the grapes were destemmed and left on the skins for a short time before pressing. After cool, temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine lay on the fine lees for a while before being bottled, clarified and stabilised. Finally, it was bottled in May 2022. <\/p>\n
