Main Divide Rosé – A fresh rosé from Waipara

Carefully selected grapes from a unique blend of complementary varieties were harvested to produce Main Divide Rosé. The juice, which was extracted by gravity without pressing, came into contact with the grape skin to add a little colour. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a cool temperature to preserve varietal purity and freshness, and the wine was bottled shortly afterwards.

And this is how the Main Divide Rosé from Pegasus Bay tastes

The Main Divide Rosé beguiles the nose with a delicate aroma of grapefruit, strawberries, pears and pomegranates, underpinned by a hint of rose petals and rhubarb. There are also hints of minerality. On the palate, this New Zealand wine is tangy, dry and finely structured, with a lively acidity that dances across the palate and leads to a lingering and refreshing finish. The complementary grape varieties ensure that the wine remains fleshy and supple while adding flavour and structure.

What food goes well with Main Divide Rosé from Pegasus Bay?

The Main Divide Rosé goes well with a variety of dishes. It harmonises very well with light starters such as salads, bruschetta and fresh fruit. Its acidity and fruitiness complement these dishes without overpowering them. Its light and refreshing character make this New Zealand rosé an ideal accompaniment to seafood. Combine it with dishes such as grilled prawns, salmon or a seafood salad. Pegasus Bay’s Main Divide Rosé also complements the flavours of chicken, turkey and other poultry dishes. Grilled or roasted chicken in particular can be a delicious combination. Soft and mild cheeses such as goat’s cheese, feta or brie go well with this rosé from New Zealand.

The acidity of the wine helps to break up the creaminess of the cheese. The slightly sweet and fruity characteristics of this rosé wine can balance out the spiciness of savoury dishes. Try it with spicy Mexican, Thai or Indian cuisine. Of course, Main Divide Rosé is an excellent accompaniment to Mediterranean dishes. Think of dishes such as Greek salads, tapenade or ratatouille. A charcuterie platter with various sausages, olives and cheeses is enhanced by the versatility of this New Zealand wine. We love it with grilled dishes, especially grilled vegetables, pork or lighter meats such as chicken or turkey.
